My thoughts on how an RPer should play fairly and why Zagrin has not played fairly

Post by Guest on Wed Oct 16, 2013 12:47 am

I am opening this topic to express my thoughts  to the best of my ability. My topic is about my experiences in Roleplaying and comparing them to the battles I have had on here. I am not expecting anything to come out of this. I just want to say my piece, and move on.

In my time as an RPer, I have played in several stories taken control of various characters of my own design. People say that I play decently. I have never had problems with playing with others and people have not complained to me that I play unfairly. In battle, I take hits that I believe are accurate enough to hit my character. I do not force my opponent into an impossible to win situation and I always give him the ability to judge if my attack should hit or miss in a logical standard. It is always fair on my end and I always have fun even when I lose.

However in recent months while playing on this site, I have run into particular people that I feel are just not playing fairly. Even after a complete reset of the site, one in particular continues to play unfairly and do things that are unfair.

Culprit:
Zagrin: Playing as Titanium Swordsmith (Old Character) and Lucky Lunatic (New Character)

As Titanium Swordsmith, he originally created a power that at a cost of 50% killer gauge allows him to build swords for him or others to use. Now granted this ability is a powerful one but it's not overpowered. I can see a swordsmith using his special ability to create a powerful sword and use it or give it to another so that they could use it and at the end of the battle the sword would vanish.

However Zagrin pushed for a new ability that allows him to create the same swords for a very small cost (5%) and keep them in his inventory creating a game breaking way (aka cheating) to be able to win. Second he used that ability to create a ton of swords then use them all in a insane power up ability (the now banned IS) that allowed him to break the old stat system. Upon that, everyone lost IS because of one knucklehead not willing to show self-control and play fairly. When called on the carpet for these abilities and actions, he just dismisses it saying that the person complaining, which I’ll admit is me, is being nothing but a whining loser.

Now let’s get to him playing as Lucky Lunatic

After the wipe, Zagrin decides to create Lucky Lunatic as his character. This character because he wishes to trash reality gains the ability to use ‘lunatic hallucination’ which by his definition allows him to bend reality things in an area of effect (10 meters) that causes reality to be changed at his command making spikes, acid pits, pillars, ramps, flypaper, etc. He can even create rifts in space and time to make himself shift out of the way of an attack in an instant.

Nevertheless, the fact is that ability as defined and executed is insanely overpowered, the whole same level same potential rule of Accel World means that everyone has the same amount of potential if they are at the same level and Zagrin clearly ignores that. Bending the physics of reality is known as a god-type move and it is considered too powerful for normal RPers to deal with in PvP type battles with the same level same potential rule. He says it’s a yellow type move because it doesn’t directly affect an avatar but that is not what a Yellow move means.

Yellow Color Indirect Moves do not damage an opponent directly but instead cast status conditions upon opponents. For example Yellow Radio’s, Silly Go Round seems to cause the world to spin but in truth he’s not spinning the world in reality, it’s a confusion type ability that makes the person (or people) affected unable to focus because it seems like the world is spinning when in truth it’s not. It is a status condition.

Let us look into what a Hallucination is by definition.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination

A hallucination by simple definition is a condition that makes people sense things that are not there. This could be done by sight, sound, taste, smell, and even touch. It is not a reality-bending move. It is a disruption of the senses, nothing more.

Those who have allowed Zagrin to have his Lunatic Hallucination move should be ashamed. All he has done is make a move that trolls people and his ultimate desire is to troll people in character, take burst points and move up in the ranks.

Normal punishment for these types of actions would be banishment from an RP site but I will not push for that instead I will go on record saying that Zagrin is known to create moves that break rules and has people who will approve said moves.

If that’s how people here are going to play then so be it. I’ll continue to play normally but don’t expect me to play against those who willingly break the rules. If you all don’t like that, tough.

Oh and by the way, he says in his character file that his body is weak yet his defense stat is at 2000 (or a C+) in the current system. How is that weak?

Anyways I have said my piece. You may now comment below.

First, regarding the KM + IS combination. We can't do anything about it. As you know, it was made by the old admin and I've pointed its flaws. No one responded and soon IS become a cheap way to victory against NPC.
Second, for the Lunatic Hallucination, I've voiced my concern about it, but others don't seem to see the potential behind it and approved it

First, Zagrin wasn't the cause of IS removal. The system was faulty as shit thanks to Regan's work. We disabled Zag's IS but still others could play it. Then seeing how it wasn't even working correctly, we removed it and don't plan on implementing it for now.

Second, everything you said about his chars being OP may be true (Titanium Swordsmith was indeed really OP, and i need to remind you guys who approved him.) but there are always weaknesses, and same goes for Lunatic.

There are a few things about Lunatic that will need to be fixed. Yes, on that, the weak body part, i missed it, and Zag will surely fix it. Stats are being remade after all (From what i've seen at least.).

Regarding Yellow Color attributes... remove the status condition thingy. We did see Yellow Radio use moves like that, but other yellows don't seem to use this. Thus, indirect attacks that don't directly affect the DA fits the yellow theme.

Lastly, can i know one thing Diamond? Ever since i joined this forum, you've always been complaining about Zag. You hate him? Ok. But needing to make a post like that, saying people should be ashamed and all? Frankly, that's getting too much. Why couldn't you just send a PM to Mia or Tus or me to explain your point instead of making a thread against Zag?

The reason I could not just send a PM is because I needed to raise a red flag for the forum and show you all how it appears to me that someone onsite is refusing to play fairly and has refused to play fairly ever since he's started playing.

It's people like Zagrin that destroy RPs, why? Because they refuse to play characters at the level everyone else is always ruin the experience for everyone else. People like Zagrin want to play as gods, doing things that is theoretically impossible and then say oh I can play as this because I can create someone who hates reality so much that in the accelerated world he can make reality his bitch. I can be a god and create rifts in space and time, I can do this, I can do that, I can do anything I want to reality.

Compare Zagrin as being a god like reality manipulator to everyone else on this site and tell me Platinum where the hell the same level same potential rule is.

Diamond Dash: a high speed runner
Alice Frost: a person who creates ice
Madras Horror: A player who causes people to see illusions of fear when they look at him.
Lavender Raven: A parkour expert who uses acrobatics.
Wisteria Banshee: a player who uses screams to lower stats
Gulf Beast: A beast like player that can become enraged and go berserk
Green Guardian: A person who wields a massive shield that can absorb attacks

I look at these seven examples of characters and I compare them to Lucky Lunatic and I see a scale that leans to Lucky Lunatic to the point that it breaks the scale.

I'm just going to leave this pastebin here because I honestly can't give enough of a damn to explain again how a normal fight would be with this guy: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Also of those listed, need I make a nice list of how good some are or not? Because I can, I can tell you I can see two who are -very- subpar already though so they're not going to stand up in general.

But well, you only gave one liner descriptions of them instead of going in depth what they can all do at their full potential so there's that too. I can do the same.

Lucky Lunatic: Changes the surroundings around him to fight.

See? Not that difficult?

Now if I go in depth:

Madras Horror:

A Dual Avatar that works on the sense of sight, for every turn that a player looks at this guy they will receive an entire rank down in a stat which is cumulative. In addition to remove this, by a rank per rank way, they need to not look at this guy directly.

This is per turns, remember eh?

The cost of actually doing this is 5% of the Killer Gauge per round, also that's per turn not per round so expected 800 down by the end of his turn once more so your chance to hit...good luck? If you want to avoid this you have to take basically an action of not looking, which is basically nulling your DEX stat -anyways-. Take into account this guy is a melee type who -also- has a speed focus so he's probably not going to get hit very much because your DEX will be just -that- bad.

So that's basically the full potential of Horror's ability of completely screwing your DEX stat or stunning you every turn to which you're going to be wailed on all the time. Active ability like Lunatic Hallucination except with one third of the cost, not as variable but can be -just- as effective as well as work against ranged since this is based on sight.

Green Guardian? Well if you read his shield's ability, as a passive for the record, he blocks all direct damage and turns it into KG.

If you honestly can't get what he can do through that one sentence, I'll honestly be surprised.

If I'm honest about the god-like reality manipulator, if that was true he would made rocks fall and everyone dies instead of taking advantage of Dash's speed the -entire- fight.

Dranes... You just don't get it do you? Is it just because you know him in person you turn a blind eye to his faults?

You're blind to the fact that Zagrin has many effects in one move (gravity shifting, space shifting, land shifting, etc) with no real weaknesses expect he has to use KG (a low rating compared to other moves) and that it effects an area around him (which 10 meters is a damn huge area)  while everyone else only has one effect with a clear weakness.

Yeah Sure, the full potential of Nakara's ability is to weaken a foe's dex stat so that he can't hit the broadside of a barn (aka he'll miss often) but that's a single effect with a weakness just look away and the effect goes away.

Yeah Sure, hit Green Guardian's shield and damage is turned into KG. That's a simple guard and absorb move. Weakness just don't hit the shield.

and you know the only reason he doesn't make rocks fall on everyone's heads (or buildings to slam shut like a sliding door crushing someone instantly) is not because he can't do it. He just knows that the minute he does, other people will be on his case about what he is, a freakin' godmodder, and if you don't get that, I feel sorry for you because then you are most likely blind to a lot of other things going on around you.

On second thought, what's the point in posting. If this is going to be your reply to the evidence I put forward then there's no point in responding any more.
